It is desirable to first write one's will and state what he owes and
what is owed to him. One should return any trusts and the like in his
possession to their owners, except what they permit or desire him to keep. One should return any property taken unjustly if he had done so, compensate
people for wrongs done to them to the best extent possible, and ask them
for their forgiveness. One should use only halal (permissible) wealth
for Hajj because Allah is pure and accepts only what is pure. Needless to say, the pilgrim should ready himself for his journey of
the lifetime by being morally upright, avoiding all kinds of wrong doing,
repenting for his past misdeeds and vowing never to repeat them. Also
he should be attentive to his religious rites, increase voluntary devotional
rites, recite more of Quran, increase remembrance and mentioning of Allah
and give more in the way of charity. He should adopt morals and ideals
like patience, forgiveness, gentleness, kindness, forbearance, modesty,
generosity, justice, mercy, trustworthiness, truthfulness, loyalty, piety
and try to live them to the best of his ability. Also one should learn and understand the rulings pertaining to Hajj and
Umrah
