Charity

Charity in Islam is both of volutanry and compulsory types. The former is called Sadaqah and the latter is called Zakat. Zakat is to be paid annually in the amount fixed by Islam, in proportion to with one's means and assets. Besides there is Zakat-ul-Fitr, which is to be paid at the end of the month of Ramadan, to ensure that there is no one in the community who go hungry during the day of Eid.
