Ritual Bath (Ghusl)
Ghusl is an Arabic term referring to the full ablution (ritual washing)
required in Islam for various rituals and prayers.
The ablution becomes mandatory for any adult Muslim under following conditions:
1) After having sexual intercourse or any sexual discharge (e.g.
of semen)
2) Completion of the menstrual cycle
3) Post partum bleeding
4) Death by natural causes (not a martyr)
A person required to make Ghusl is not allowed to perform prayer, directly
touch the Quran except in its container, circumambulate the Kaabah or
sit inside the mosque.
Islam also recommends (i.e. it is mustahab) the performance of
the full ablution before the Friday and Eid prayers, before entering the
ihram (entering the state of hajj or Umrah) and after having lost consciousness
through temporary insanity or fainting.
Acts if the Ghusl

2) Say bismillah ("In the Name of Allah").
3) Ensure that the water reaches all of the parts of the body as
far as possible, from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, including
inside the mouth and the nose.
